Carphone Warehouse iPhone Insurance Scam

More and more people are posting on forums and review websites about being mis-sold iPhone insurance from the Carphone Warehouse. Tim, a regular user on moneysavingexpert.com (xnetco), was told by a member of staff at the largest mobile phone retailer that he was only allowed to purchase an iPhone only if he also bought insurance. “I was told I couldn’t buy the phone without purchasing the insurance for a minimum of 3 months”.

“I’m sure this is illegal but a warning to all those going to buy an iPhone from CPW [The Carphone Warehouse]. As far as I’m aware the AppleStore and O2 stores don’t force you to buy insurance”.
